Safeguard

On August 27, 2009 Ukraine initiated a safeguard investigation on imports of sheet glass thermally polished ("float glass"). Such glass could be unreinforced, transparent, or colorless and must have a thickness more than 3.5 mm but not exceeding 4.5 mm.
On November 13, 2009 Ukraine imposed a preliminary safeguard duty amounting to 31.25%. The duty becomes applicable on the day of notice publication.
On 23 October 2010 by the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade, the decision # -236/2010/4402-27 is adopted. This decision introduces the definitive safeguard duty of 31.25%.
