On 8 July 2009, Peru initiated a countervailing duty investigation on imports of olive oil from Spain, Italy, Greece, France and Portugal.
On 4 December 2010, countervailing duties were imposed on Spain and Italy, with the rate being respectively 0.95 euros/Kg and 1.05 euros/kg for the two countries. No duties were imposed on Greece, France and Portugal.
On 26 March 2013, the Government of Peru decided to eliminate the countervailing duties specified above.
