NoOn September 13, 2014, Argentina launched the 'Ahora 12' program. This program allows individuals to finance the purchase of certain domestically-manufactured goods, in 12 monthly instalments without interest.
The list of the domestically manufactured products that this program applies to are: (1) technical appliances, (2) Attires, (3) Footwear and Leather Goods, (4) Furniture, (5) Construction Materials, (6) Motorbikes, (7) Bikes, (8) matters and sommiers, (9) books, (10) tourist packages and (11) Glasses.
The program was initially effective until March 1, 2015, but Argentina passed the Resolution 16/2015 extending the program until December 15, 2015.
However, on December 14, 2015, a joint resolution launched by the Ministry of Production and the Ministry of Treasury and Public Finance (Resolution 1/2015), extended the duration of the program until March 31, 2016.
Later, with Resolution 87/2016, passed on March 30, 2016, the program was extended until September 30, 2016. This expiration date was again extended until January 31, 2017, with Disposition 51-E/2016 passed by the Domestic Trade Subsecretary.
On November 21, 2016, Disposition 60-E/2016 extended again the program until March 31, 2017.
The program was again renewed by the Ministry of Production and the expiration date was set on December 31, 2017.
Nonetheless, on December 28, 2017, the Ministry of Production announced a new prolongation of the program until April 1, 2018, but this expiration date was again extended until June 30, 2018.
On July 1, 2018, the program was again extended until December 31, 2018.
