On 19 March 2015, the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced a change in the feed-in tariffs starting from April 2015.
The purchase price for electricity generated through photovoltaic power for non-household consumers shall be reduced from 32 yen/kWh to 29 yen/kWh (ca. 0.24USD) for the period from April to June of the given year. After this period, the price shall be further reduced to 27 yen/kWh.
Meanwhile, the electricity generated by photovoltaic power for household consumers shall be lowered from 37 yen/kWh to 33 or 35 yen/kWh, depending on whether the consumer's generators are required to install output control equipment.
Furthermore, the purchase price for electricity generated from unused wood biomass will be increased from 32 yen/kWh to 40 yen/kWh.
The prices for the remaining sources of renewable energy remained unchanged.
