Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) announced to finance biofuel producer Abengoa Bioenergia Agroindústria S.A. with a 309.6 million real (USD 103.09 million) loan. The sum will be invested to build a second generation (2G) ethanol plant.
The measure is considered to be discriminatory since the Brazilian Development Bank provides credits with below-market interest rates only to legal persons (private or public) based in Brazil.
