ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On 29 December 2014, the government of Chile announced that it will dedicate a fund of USD 850,000,000 to the development of projects for 33 fishery organizations, including employing more than 2,000 artisanal fishermen in the region of Valparaiso.
The funds are dedicated to marketing expenses and productivity improvements for the fishermen. The envisioned projects also include attempts to broaden the income base of the fishermen through the development of additional income streams such as tourism.
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives that are likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facing international competition, whether from imports, in export markets, and from foreign subsidiaries.
