On 4 May 2012, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) increased the import tariffs on stainless steel kitchen sinks from 20 to the WTO bound rate of 30 percent. The duty rates for the EU, EFTA and SADC remain the same, which are free of duty, 10 percent, and free of duty, respectively.
The good in question is classified under the subheading 7324.10 and carries the following description:
The increase was requested by the manufacturers Franke Kitchen Systems and PABAR to the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC).
Affected trading partners
