Export licensing requirement

 On 18 July 2012, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade announced regulation 46/M-DAG/PER/7/2012 requiring exporters of gold and silver to obtain an approval letter from the Ministry first. The letter will be issued within 5 working days (art. 4(2))by the Directorate General for Industrial and Mining Products at the Ministry and shall be valid for 6 months (art. 5). After the expiration, the exporter may ask for a renewal after submitting a realisation report (art. 6).
The regulation came into force on 19 July 2012.
