On January 13, 2015, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of coloured float glass from China (Resolution 002, 13.01.2015).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7005.2111 and 7005.2190.
The complaint was lodged on September 11, 2014 by Vidrio Andino S.A. on behalf of the national industry. The investigation started on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Republic of Colombia, i.e. on January 19, 2015.
On March 20th, 2015, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism decided to extend up to April 20th, 2015 the investigation period before issuing a preliminary decision (Resolution 050, 20.03.2015). Resolution 050 was published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Colombia on March 20th, 2015.
On April 20th, 2015, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of coloured float glass originating in China (Resolution 064, 20.04.2015). The amount of the duty is the difference between the FOB price declared by the importer and the reference FOB price set at USD 0.39 per kilogram.
This provisional anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Republic of Colombia, i.e. on April 23rd, 2015, and is applicable for a period of four months.
On 9 December 2015, the Colombian authorities terminated the above investigation without the imposition of definitive duties.
