NoOn June 9, 2014, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of galvanised strand wires and pre-stressed wires from China (Resolution 111, 09.06.2014).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 7312.1090.
The complaint was lodged on March 7, 2014 by Empresa Colombiana de Cables S.A. EmcocablesS.A. on behalf of the national industry. The investigation started on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Republic of Colombia, i.e. on June 13, 2014.
On August 6, 2014, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism decided to extend up to September 15, 2014 the investigation period before issuing a preliminary decision (Resolution 167, 06.08.2014). Resolution 167 was published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Colombia on August 11, 2014.
On September 15, 2014, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of galvanised strand wires and pre-stressed wires originating in China (Resolution 184, 15.09.2014). The rate of the duty is 20% of the FOB price declared by the importer. This provisional anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Republic of Colombia, i.e. on September 19, 2014, and is applicable for a period of four months.
On January 15, 2015, the Colombian authorities decided to extend for two months the above-mentioned provisional anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of galvanised strand wires and pre-stressed wires from China (Resolution 003, 15.01.2015). Resolution 003 was published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Colombia on January 19, 2015.
On July 10th, 2015, the Colombian authorities decided to terminate the investigation without imposing any definitive measure (Resolution 128, 10.07.2015). Hence, the provisional duty imposed on September 15th, 2014 was withdrawn. Resolution 128 was published in the Official Journal of the Republic of Colombia on July 14th, 2015.
