On 12 November 2014, Pakistan's Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved an export quota of 500,000 metric tons of sugar to be exported until 31 March 2015. The exports would be allowed only against an irrevocable letter of credit or contract with 15% non-refundable advance payment. The shipment would have to be made within 45 days of the registration of contract with the State Bank of Pakistan.
On 24 December 2014, the ECC approved increasing the export quota to 650,000 tons to be exported until 31 May 2015. Further, a subsidy of Rs. 10 kg. was also provided for the above exports (see related State Act).
On 9 April 2015, the deadline for exports was later extended to 15 July 2015.
An export quota of 250,000 tons was last announced in March 2014 to be exported until 15 June 2014.
