ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On October 16, 2013, the European Commission announced the initiation of a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of sulphanilic acid from China and India (Notice No 2013/C 300/05). This follows the request lodged on July 1, 2013 by CUF - Químicos Industriais, the sole EU producer of the subject good. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: ex 2921.4200.
On December 17, 2014, the Commission decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of sulphanilic acid originating in China (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1346/2014). The rate of the duty is 33.7% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price. The duty entered into force on the day following the publication of the regulation in the Official Journal of the European Union (L 363), that is on December 19, 2014. The continuation does not apply for goods originating in India, thus the duty imposed on imports of sulphanilic acid from India expired.
The original anti-dumping duty was imposed by Council Regulation (EC) No 1339/2002 dated July 22, 2002 and published in the Official Journal of the European Communities on July 25, 2002. It was extended a first time by Council Regulation (EC) No 1000/2008 dated October 13, 2008 and published in the Official Journal of the European Communities on October 16, 2008.
On 18 December 2019, the European Commission initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. The investigation follows the application lodged on 19 September 2019 by Bondalti Chemicals S.A.
