Export ban

On 18 November 2008, the Secretary of Environment of the Dominican Republic passed resolution 17-2008 which canceled the administrative procedure for obtaining permits to export crushed stone, sometimes referred to as a "construction aggregate." As no alternative procedure was established, this decision amounts to the imposition of an export ban on the product.
The procedure was later reinstated and replaced by an export tax in May 2009 (see related measure).
