On April 4, 2011 the Arkansas state legislature enacted into law a bill (HB1546) providing that, "An official state flag shall be made in the United States." It further provides that the Secretary of State will "obtain a sufficient quantity of flags of the United States and of the State of Arkansas in order that the flags that have been flown over the State Capitol Building may be made available to members of the House of Representatives and Senate and to the Governor for distribution to civic groups, schools, and organized youth groups in their respective areas," and that these flags must be made in the United States.
