Anti-dumping

On July 21, 2010, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of epoxidized soya oil from the United States of America.
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 1518.0002.
This review follows the applications lodged on June 16, 2010 by Especialidades Industriales y Químicas, S.A. de C.V. and Resinas y Materiales, S.A. de C.V. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on July 29, 2010.

On July 7, 2011, the Mexican authorities issued the preliminary resolution and decided upon the modification of the existing anti-dumping duty from 62.45% to 29.2%.

On December 13, 2011, the Mexican authorities terminated the review and decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of epoxidized soya oil originating in the United States of America. The rate of this definitive duty is back at 62.45%. This duty entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on January 10, 2012. It shall be enforced for a period of five years, starting from July 30, 2010.

The original anti-dumping duty entered into force on July 30, 2005.
 
On June 30th, 2015, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a second sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of epoxidized soya oil from the United States of America.
This review follows the applications lodged on May 28th and June 2nd, 2015 by Resinas y Materiales, S.A. de C.V. and Especialidades Industriales y Químicas, S.A. de C.V. respectively.
The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on July 16th, 2015. The existing anti-dumping measure remains in force during the review.
 
On 6 August 2016, the Mexican authorities extended the definitiveanti-dumping duty on imports of epoxidized soybean oil from the United States. The rate of duty remains at 62.45% for a period of five years starting from 30 July 2016.
