On October 26, 2010, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of seamless steel tubing (101.6 mm = external diameter = 460 mm) from Japan. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7304.1101, 7304.1102, 7304.1103, 7304.1199, 7304.1901, 7304.1902, 7304.1903, 7304.1999, 7304.3905, 7304.3906, 7304.3907, 7304.3999, 7304.5906, 7304.5907, 7304.5908 and 7304.5999. This review follows the application lodged on October 4, 2010 by Tubos de Acero de México, S.A. de C.V. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on November 4, 2010.
On November 15, 2011, the Mexican authorities issued the preliminary resolution and decided upon the continuation of the existing anti-dumping duty until the end of the revision.
On April 12, 2012, the Mexican authorities terminated the review and decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of seamless steel tubing originating in Japan. The rate of the duty remains 99.9%. This duty entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on April 21, 2012. It shall be enforced for a period of five years, starting from November 11, 2010.
The original anti-dumping duty entered into force on November 11, 2000.
On 7 November 2015, the Mexican authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from Japan. This review follows the applications lodged on 2 October 2015 by Tubos de Acero de México, SA.
On 19 October 2016, the Mexican authorities extended the definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain seamless steel tubing from Japan. The rate of duty remains at 99.9% for a period of five years starting from 11 November 2015.
