Import-related non-tariff measure, nes

On 11 July 2014, the Indian Ministry of Finance restricted certain conditions for re-import of cut and polished diamonds that are exported for certification/grading by labarotories/agencies. Earlier, the re-imported diamonds could have a variation of +-0.1mm in circumference as compared to the exported diamonds, which was reduced to +-0.05mm. Further a variaton of +0.1mm was allowed for the height which has been amended to a +-0.07mm variation in length and breadth of the diamong. The variation allowance has been kept the same for the weight of the diamong at +-1%.
