ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
Import-related non-tariff measure, nes
On 1 March 2013, the Indian Ministry of Finance relaxed the conditions for re-import of cut and polished diamonds that are exported for certification/grading by labarotories/agencies. Earlier, these diamonds were required to match the exported diamonds in value, height, circumference and weight; this was relaxed and a variance of +- 0.1 mm in height and circumference and +- 0.1 % in weight was allowed.
In July 2014, a further intervention tightened the conditions for the re-import of diamonds again (see related measure)
