ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On February 24, 2014, the Indian Directorate General of anti-dumping & allied duties, Ministry of Commerce, initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of acrylic fibre of all types (whether grey or dyed) from Egypt.
The products subject to investigation are classified under chapter 55 of the HS classification. This means that the following HS codes might be affected: 5501, 5502, 5503, 5504, 5505, 5506, 5507, 5508, 5509, 5510, 5511, 5512, 5513, 5514, 5515 and 5516.
This follows the application lodged by M/s Indian Acrylics Ltd., Chandigarh and M/s Pasupati Acrylon Ltd., Dehli, domestic producers of the investigated goods whose production represents 73% of total domestic production of those goods.
On January 15th, 2015, the Indian Directorate General of anti-dumping & allied duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, terminated the anti-dumping investigation on imports of acrylic fibre from Egypt without the imposition of any anti-dumping measure. Reason for this decision is that the sole Egyptian producer of acrylic fibre has stopped production.
