Anti-dumping

Nucor Fastener filed anti-dumping and countervailing duty petitions on September 23, 2009 against imports of standard steel fasteners (i.e., nuts and bolts) from China and Taiwan. In 2008 the United States imported $7.1 million worth of these products from China, and $11.0 million from Taiwan.
Under U.S. trade-remedy laws, AD and CVD petitions are subject to a four-stage process: a preliminary injury determination by the USITC, the preliminary and final dumping and subsidy determinations by the International Trade Administration (ITA) of the Department of Commerce, and the USITC's final injury determination.
This case ended when the USITC reached a negative determination in the preliminary phase on is scheduled on November 6, 2009.
