ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On June 13, 2014, the Secretary for Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of cuticle nippers (entirely of metal, made from carbon steel or stainless steel, coated with plastic or not, marketed individually or in kits) from China and Pakistan (Circular No. 31, 13.06.2014).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 8214.2000.
The complaint was lodged on April 30, 2014 by Mundial S.A. - Produtos de Consumo, which represents 98% of the domestic production of the good under scrutiny.
The investigation started on the day of the publication of the circular in the Federal Official Gazette of Brazil, i.e. on June 16, 2014.
On August 14, 2014, the Secretary for Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade decided to terminate the anti-dumping investigation without imposing any duty (Circular No. 47, 14.08.2014). Reason for this decision is the lack of evidence of the existence of injury to the domestic industry. Circular No. 47 was published in the Federal Official Gazette of Brazil on August 15, 2014.
