On June 22, 2010, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate from China.
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 2831.1020.
On June 17, 2011, the Indian authorities issued their final findings of the sunset review. They recommended the continuation of the existing anti-dumping measure.
On August 5, 2011, the Indian authorities issued the notification of extension of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate from China (Notification No. 70/2011-Customs, 05.08.2011). The amount of the duty is USD 657.87 per metric ton, at the exception of the company Wuxi City Dongtai Fine Chemical Co. Ltd. whose exports are subject to a duty of USD 471.91 per metric ton. This duty is effective for a period of five years.
The original anti-dumping duty was decided on January 25, 2006 and imposed by Notification No. 23/2006-Customs on March 6, 2006.
