Export-related non-tariff measure, nes
In a final rule published in the Federal Register (Volume 79, Number 126) on July 1, 2014, the Bureau of Industry and Security of the U.S. Department of Commerce revised the Export Administration Regulations in order to ease controls on the exportation of products that are now deemed not to fall under the U.S. Munitions List. These products will instead be subject to the less strict controls of the Commerce Control List. The regulatory change is part of the Obama administration's Export Control Reform Initiative.
At issue are military electronics, technology and software for certain wing folding systems, certain superconducting and cryogenic equipment, and related items. The addition of software and technology for certain wing folding systems is effective July 1, 2014.
