On July 26, 2010, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of polytetrafluoroethylene from China. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 3904.6100.
On July 25, 2011, the Indian authorities issued their final findings of the sunset review. They recommended the continuation of the existing anti-dumping measure.
On August 24, 2011, the Indian authorities issued the notification of extension of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of polytetrafluoroethylene from China (Notification No. 81/2011-Customs, 24.08.2011). This duty is effective for a period of five years.
On 8 July 2016, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the above-mentioned anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of the subject goods originating in or exported from China. This follows the application lodged by Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd.
On 2 August 2016, in connection with the above sunset review the Indian Ministry of Finance issued the Customs Notification extending the definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the subject good originating in or exported from China for one year i.e. until 23 August 2017 (Notification No. 36/2016-Customs (ADD), 02.08.2016).
On 28 July 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue extended the definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from China following the conclusion of the above sunset review. The rate of duty is USD 2637 per tonne. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
