Anti-dumping

On August 22, 2013, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of tertiary butylhydroquinone (tert-butylhydroquinone or TBHQ) from India (MOFCOM Announcement No. 57 of 2013, 22.08.2013).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 2907.2210, 2907.2290 and 2907.2990.
The complaint was lodged on June 28, 2013 by Taibond Food Technology Co., Ltd. on behalf of the domestic industry.
On April 29, 2014, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of tertiary butylhydroquinone originating in India (MOFCOM Announcement No. 28 of 2014, 29.04.2014). The rate of the deposits that have to be paid by Indian companies is 37.6%, at the exception of the companies Nova International, Milestone Preservatives and Shevalyn Pharmachem which are subject to a rate of 56.9%. This provisional anti-dumping duty entered into force on April 30, 2014.
On August 21, 2014, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of tertiary butylhydroquinone originating in India (MOFCOM Announcement No. 57 of 2014, 21.08.2014). The rate of this definitive anti-dumping duty is 49.8%. This duty entered into force on August 22, 2014 and is applicable for a period of five years.
