On 4 July 2013, the Office for Internal Commerce issued Resolution 67 allowing the government to seize wheat for export. The stated reason is the low supply of wheat in the domestic market which the government in turn sees as driving up prices for products such as bread, pasta, and other wheat-based foods.
The measure was effective on 5 July 2013.
On January 10, 2017, the Ministry of Production of Argentina issued Resolution 24-E suspending Resolution 67/2013.
