On November 18, 2013, the Indonesian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of steel rods and bars for concrete reinforcement from Portugal and Spain.
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7214.1000, 7214.2000, 7214.3000 and 7214.9900.
On March 19, 2014 the Dominican Republic authorities imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty of 23% on imports of steel rods and bars for concrete reinforcement originating in Spain. The preliminary determination provided for the exclusion of Portugal from the investigation procedure.
On July 24, 2014, the Dominican Republic authorities decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of steel rods and bars for concrete reinforcement originating in Spain (Resolution No. CDC-RD-AD-008-2014, 24.07.2014). The rate of duty is 22%. This definitive measure entered into force on July 30, 2014 and is applicable for a period of five years.
On 30 July 2019, the Dominican Republic terminated the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from Spain. The duty was terminated as it was set to expire.
