Anti-dumping

On July 22, 2013, the Argentinian Ministry of Economy and Public Finance decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of tennis balls from China, the Philippines and Thailand (Resolution 117/2013, 22.07.2013).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 9506.6100.
The complaint was lodged by Esat S.A. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on July 26, 2013.
On July 21, 2014, the Argentinian authorities issued their preliminary decision (Resolution 109/2014, 21.07.2014). They decided to continue the investigation without imposing a provisional anti-dumping duty. Resolution 109/2014 was published in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic on July 22, 2014.
 
On January 23rd, 2015, the Argentinian authorities decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of tennis balls from China, the Philippines and Thailand (Resolution 14/2015, 23.01.2015).
The amount of the duty imposed on loose tennis balls is USD 0.52 per item (for imports originating in the three countries). The amount of the duty imposed on competition tennis balls in pressurized cans is USD 0.12 per items for imports originating in China, USD 0.13 per item for imports originating in Thailand and USD 0.21 per item for imports originating in the Philippines.
This definitive anti-dumping duty is applicable for a period of five years. Resolution 14/2015 was published in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic on February 24th, 2015.
