Anti-dumping

On November 13, 2008, the Argentinian authorities decided, after having conducted a review, the continuation of the anti-dumping duty on imports of certain types of bicycles from China and Chinese Taipei (Resolution 615/2008, 13.11.2008).

The products subject to the duty are classified under the following HS code: 8712.0010.

A minimum FOB export value has been set by the Argentinian authorities for each good depending on its technical characteristics. The minimum FOB export values range from USD 23.00 per unit to USD 65.00 per unit depending on the characteristics of the bicycle. For more details, see Annex 1 of Resolution 4/2002. This definitive anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of the signature of the resolution, i.e. on November 13, 2008, and is applicable for a period of five years. Resolution 615/2008 was published in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic on November 17, 2008.

This duty follows a review requested by the Industrial Chamber of Motorcycle, Bicycle, wheeled Vehicle and Related (Cámara Industrial de la Motocicleta, Bicicleta, Rodados y Afines). A review was then initiated by the Argentinian authorities on May 18, 2007 (Resolution 332/2007, 18.05.2007). Resolution 332/2007 was published in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic on June 1, 2007.

On November 12, 2013, the Argentinian authorities decided to initiate an expiry review of the above-mentioned anti-dumping duty imposed on November 13, 2008 by Resolution 615/2008 (Resolution 742/2013, 12.11.2013). The review was requested by the Industrial Chamber of Motorcycle, Bicycle, wheeled Vehicle and Related (Cámara Industrial de la Motocicleta, Bicicleta, Rodados y Afines). Resolution 742/2013 was published in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic on November 13, 2013.

On May 12th, 2015, the Argentinian authorities concluded the expiry review and decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of bicycles from China and Chinese Taipei (Resolution 328/2015, 12.05.2015). For more details on the measure, please see previous Resolutions.
This definitive anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on May 13th, 2015, and is applicable for a period of five years.
