Export tax

On 11 January 2014, the Ministry of Finance issued Regulation MOF 6/2014 increasing the export duty levels for certain types of raw minerals. Ten different minerals are affected by the tax measure, a complete list can be found in the annex of the regulation (see sources).

The export tax for all mineral ores will increase from 20 percent in January 2014 to 60 percent in July 2016 before exports will be banned altogether in 2017. The exception to this process is copper which starts at 25 percent.

The measure partly overrules the regulation 75/2012 (see related measures).
