Anti-subsidy

On August 16, 2013, the Mexican Ministry of Economy decided to initiate an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of metoprolol tartrate from India (Resolución por la que se acepta la solicitud de parte interesada y se declara el inicio de la investigación antisubvención sobre las importaciones de metoprolol tartrato..., 16.08.2013).
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 2922.1928.
The complaint was lodged on May 31, 2013 by Sinbiotik S.A. de C.V. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on August 27, 2013.
On February 14, 2014, the Mexican authorities decided to impose a provisional CVD on imports of metoprolol tartrate from India (Resolución preliminar de la investigación antisubvención sobre las importaciones de metoprolol tartrato..., 14.02.2014). The rate of this provisional duty is 56.85% for all Indian exporters. This provisional CVD entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on February 28, 2014.
On July 14, 2014, the Mexican authorities decided to impose a definitive countervailing duty on imports of metoprolol tartrate originating in India. The rate of this definitive CVD is similar to the provisional one decided on February 14, 2014, i.e. 56.85%. This definitive CVD entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Federation, i.e. on July 26, 2014.
