With Government Resolution No. 1202 of 21 December 2013 the Russian Government established a permanent fixed rate of export duties on tungsten ores and concentrates at 10% of their customs value. The decree came into effect on 25 December 2013.
The resolution further makes permanent discriminatory policy with respect to tungsten ores, which were exported duty-free until 19 November 2012 (see related measure).
Tungsten concentrate is used for drilling, for the manufacture of compound steel and hard alloys, as well in the processing, electrical engineering and in the defence industries.
