Import tariff quota

On 30 December 2013, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) introduced a tariff rate quota on sardines (NCM 0303.53.00). The import tariff was reduced from 10% to 2% for a quota of 30.000 tons. The product has been included in the List of Exceptions to the Mercosur Common External Tariff (Letec). The measure remains in place until 30 April 2014.
