On December 14, 2007, the Indian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of Mulberry raw silk (not thrown, 2A grade and below) from China.
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code: 5002.0001.
On December 11, 2008, the Indian authorities issued their final findings of the sunset review. They recommended the continuation of the existing anti-dumping measure.
On January 6, 2009, the Indian authorities issued the notification of extension of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of Mulberry raw silk from China (Notification No. 05/2009-Customs, 06.01.2009). For details about the amount of the duty, see table of Notification No. 05/2009-Customs. This duty is effective for a period of five years.
The original anti-dumping duty was decided on July 3, 2003 and imposed by Notification No. 106/2003-Customs on July 10, 2003.
This duty imposed by Notification No. 05/2009-Customs expired on January 6, 2014.
