Safeguard

On June 23, 2009 Israel imposed a preliminary safeguard on steel rebars for construction, straight and spiral, uded for reinforcement or concrete, of 8-40 mm in diameter. The provisional safeguard takes the form of a temporary (bank) guarantee, for the amount of 133 US dollars per ton and is imposed for 200 days. The investigation was started on March 26, 2009.
The subject products are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 72.14.2000 and 72.13.1000.
On 17 August 2009, the Israeli authorities terminated the above investigation without the imposition of definitive duties. Provisional duties were as such also terminated.
