Import tariff

On 5 August 2009, Ecuador's Trade and Investment Board (Consejo de Comercio Exterior e Inversiones COMEXI) adopted Resolution No. 500 temporarily eliminating import tariffs on cotton not carded or combed. This zero per cent import tariff only applied to the import of a total of 19,537.2 metric tonnes of cotton. This measure entered into force on 21 August 2009 for the period of one year.

On 16 September 2010, Ecuador's Trade and Investment Board (Consejo de Comercio Exterior e Inversiones COMEXI) adopted Resolution No. 584 temporarily eliminating import tariffs on cotton not carded or combed. This zero per cent import tariff only applied to the import of a total of 26,641 metric tonnes of cotton. This measure entered into force on 13 October 2010 for the period of one year.

On 31 October 2011, Ecuador's Foreign Trade Committee (COMEX) issued Resolution No. 33, eliminating temporarily the import duty on cotton, not carded or combed, under an import quota of 300 metric tonnes. his measure entered into force on 31 October 2011 for the period of one year.
