On 13 October 2010, Bolivia's Cabinet Council adopted Decree No. 0671 temporarily eliminating import tariffs on sugar. At the same time, the decree also temporarily suspends exports of sugar and sugar cane. This measure entered into force on 13 October 2010 for a period of 6 months.
