On 14 May 2013, Jamaica imposed additional import duties on lubrication oil products originating in Trinidad and Tobago. The duty is collected as a retroactive interim charge between the date of the accusation and today and amounts to J$ 184.2 million (USD 2 million).
In December 2012, Jamaica accused the state owned oil company Petrotrin on circumventing certain rules of origin with respect to the exportation of lubrication oil. Trinidad and Tobago where not answering to the verification request, therefore Jamaica reacted with the above stated import duty.
