Export tax

On May 20, 2013, the Government of Argentina adopted reference prices applicable to the exportation of lemons and limes to Canada, China, United Kingdom and other countries.

The product subject to this measure is classified under the following tariff line of MERCOSUR's Harmonized System:0805.50.00

Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature for exportgoods in 2005 (in Spanish: valores referenciales de carácterpreventivo). The stated purpose is to safeguard the revenue derived from the payment of export duties (see WTO Trade Policy Review). The reference values are based on free on board (FOB) prices in USD. Alist with all current reference values can be consulted under: www.afip.gob.ar/Aduana/valoracion/Valores%20Referenciales%20vigentes.pdf

These reference prices entered into force on May 22, 2013.

Update
On 27 November 2017, the Argentina Federal Administration of Public Revenue eliminated all reference values on exports (please, see related state acts).
