NoOn February 5, 2009, the Peruvian National Institute of Antitrust and Intellectual Property Protection (Indecopi) decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of woven fabrics (unbleached, bleached or dyed plain weave fabrics), less than 1.80 meter wide, weighing between 60 and 200 g/m2, of polyester (100%), cotton (100%), polyester-cotton blend (50%-50%) and mixes wherein cotton predominates (over 50%) from China (Resolution No. 017-2009/CFD-INDECOPI, 05.02.2009).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 5210.1100, 5210.2100, 5210.3100, 5512.1100, 5512.1900, 5513.1100, 5513.2100, 5208.1100, 5208.1200, 5208.2100, 5208.2200, 5208.3100 and 5208.3200.
The investigation was requested on May 13, 2008 by Tecnología Textil S.A. It started on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal El Peruano, i.e. on February 11, 2009.
On July 27, 2010, the Peruvian authorities decided to terminate the investigation on imports of certain types of woven fabrics of polyester, cotton, polyester-cotton blend and mixes wherein cotton predominates from China without imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty (Resolution No. 136-2010/CFD-INDECOPI, 27.07.2010). The investigation ended on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal El Peruano, i.e. on August 8, 2010.
