Anti-dumping

On February 20, 2013, the Malaysian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of electrolytic tinplate from China and the Republic of Korea. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 7210.1220.

On July 20, 2013, the Malaysian authorities imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of electrolytic tinplate from China and the Republic of Korea. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in China is between 7.40% and 16.00%, depending on the exporting company wit the exemption of a number of companies, which are exempted from anti-dumping duties. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in Republic of Korea is between 3.31% to 25.00%, depending on the exporting company. The measure is in force from 20 July 2013 to 15 November 2013.

On November 16, 2013, the Malaysian authorities imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of electrolytic tinplate from China and the Republic of Korea. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in China is between 9.78% with the exemption of a number of companies, which are exempt from anti-dumping duty. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in the Republic of Korea is between 3.46% to 9.78% depending on the exporting company. The measure is in force for a period of five years.
