Anti-dumping

On 7 July 2011, the Ministry of Economic Development of New Zealand initiated a review of the anti-dumping measures in force on peaches in preserving liquid, in containers up to and including 4.0 kg originating in China. Duties on the product have been in place since 2006. The HS code in question is 2008.7009. The Ministry decided to extend the anti-dumping duties in force for a period of five years, starting from 18 July 2012.

On 14 July 2017, the New Zealand authorities initiated a sunset review of the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. This follows the application lodged on 18 May 2017 by HWL.

On 8 February 2018, the New Zealand authorities terminated the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. This follows the conclusion of the sunset review that the extension of duties was not warranted.
