ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
The Canadian Department of Finance is currently reviewing a request for the removal of the customs duties on imports of fish meal, not including herring fish meal, for use in the manufacture of animal feed. This fish meal is classified under tariff item No. 2301.20.19 of the Customs Tariff, dutiable at 3% under the Most-Favoured-Nation (MFN) Tariff, and is Free under the General Preferential Tariff (GPT).A claim has been made that this fish meal is not available in sufficient numbers from Canadian production and that tariff relief would enhance its competitiveness in the domestic and export markets.
The duty elimination came into force on 13 June 2014.
