On July 22, 2010, the Dominican Republic initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of steel rods and bars for concrete reinforcement from Turkey (Resolution No. CDC-RD-AD-087-2010, 22.07.2010).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7214.2000, 7214.1000 and 7213.2090.
The complaint was lodged on June 18, 2010 by Complejo Metalúrgico Dominicano C. por A. and Industrias Nacionales C. por A.
On November 10, 2010, the Dominican Republic authorities decided to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of steel rods and bars for concrete reinforcement originating in Turkey (Resolution No. CDC-RD-AD-098-2010, 10.11.2010). The rate of the duty is 38%. This provisional duty entered into force on November 17, 2010 and was applicable for a period of four months.
On June 3, 2011, the Dominican Republic authorities decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of steel rods and bars for concrete reinforcement originating in Turkey (Resolution No. CDC-RD-AD-107-2011, 03.06.2011). The rate of the duty is 14%. This definitive measure entered into force on June 13, 2011 and is applicable for a period of five years.
On 31 December 2015, the Dominican Republic authorities initiated a sunset review of the above products from Turkey.
On 30 November 2016, the Dominican Republic extended the anti-dumping duty following the conclusion of the above review. The rate of duty remains at 14%. The measure is force from 14 June 2016 for a period of five years.
