On 21 June 2012, the Brazilian authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of steel seamless tubes used for oil and gas pipelines from China (Circular No. 26 of 19 June 2012). The products subject to investigation are classified under HS codes subheading: 7304.19.00. The complaint was lodged on 29 February 2012 by Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes - V&M do Brasil S.A.
On 4 November 2013, the Brazilian authorities imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the above-mentioned products from China (Camex Resolution No. 94, 01.11.2013). The rate of the duty is USD 778.99 or 835.47 per tonne depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
On 1 November 2018, the Brazilian authorities initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. This follows the application lodged on 4 July 2018 by Vallourec Soluções Tubulares do Brasil. The duty will remain in force for the duration of the review.
