On April 19, 2012 the Turkish authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on welded stainless steel tubes, pipes and profiles coming from China and Chinese Taipei (Communiqué No 2012/9). The alleged dumping period is from January 1st to December 31st 2011. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes:7306.4020, 7306.4080 and 7306.6110.
On March 15, 2013 the Turkish authorities decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of welded stainless steel tubes, pipes and profiles from China and Chinese Taipei (Notification 2013/4). The rate of this duty ranges from 7.98% to 14.65% for Taiwanese companies (depending on the company) and from 13.82% to 25.27% for Chinese companies (depending on the company). It has entered into force on March 15, 2013 for a period of five years.
On December 12, 2014, the Turkish authorities initiated an anti-circumvention investigation on imports of welded stainless steel tubes, pipes and profiles from Malaysia and Vietnam (Notification 2014/43) (see related intervention).
On 2 March 2018, the Turkish authorities initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China and Chinese Taipei. This follows the application lodged by Marcegaglia TR Paslanmaz Çelik Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi. The definitive antidumping duty will remain in force for the duration of the investigation.
