On May 30, 2012, the Argentinian Ministry of Economy and Public Finance decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of conveyor or transmission belts or belting, of vulcanized rubber, reinforced only with textile materials, from Brazil and China (Resolution 52/2012, 30.05.2012).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 4010.1200. The complaint was lodged by Dunlop Argentina S.A. The investigation started on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on June 2, 2012.
On August 9, 2013, the Argentinian Ministry of Economy and Public Finance decided to continue the investigation without imposing a provisional anti-dumping duty (Resolution 128/2013, 09.08.2013).
On November 29, 2013, the Argentinian authorities decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of conveyor or transmission belts or belting, of vulcanized rubber, reinforced only with textile materials, from China (Resolution 5/2013, 29.11.2013).
The rate of the definitive duty is 178% of the FOB price for all Chinese exporters. No duty was imposed on exports from Brazil. This definitive anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day of the signature of the resolution, i.e. on November 29, 2013, and is applicable for a period of five years.
