Import tariff quota

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced in a Federal Register notice published on April 19, 2012 (Vol.77 No.76) a 51,000 short tons raw value (STRV) increase in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2012 Overall Allotment Quantity (OAQ), a reassignment of projected surplus beet sugar marketing allocations between beet processors, and a reassignment of surplus cane sugar marketing allotment from domestic sugarcane processors to a 420,000 STRV increase in the FY 2012 raw sugar tariff-rate quota. The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative then published in a subsequent Federal Register notice on April 26, 2012 (Vol.77 No.81) the combined re-allocation and increase in the tariff-rate quota TRQ on a per-country basis.
