On March 23, 2012, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of the People's Republic of China issued the Notice No.13 (2012), announced the initiation of AD investigation on resorcinol (HS 29072100) from the US and Japan.
On February 3, 2012, on behalf of the Chinese domestic industry, Zhejiang Hongsheng Chemicals Co., formally submitted to the MOFCOM an application for the performance of anti-dumping investigation on resorcinol from the US and Japan. In accordance with the Article 11, 13 and 17 of the Anti-dumping Regulations of the People's Republic of China, the MOFCOM decided to start anti-dumping investigation on the said product.
The investigation term shall be one year, from the date of March 23, 2012 to March 23, 2013; where under special circumstances, the term may be extended to September 23, 2013.
On 23 November 2012, the Ministry of Commerce deided to impose preliminary duties on imports of the subject product. The duties amount to 40.5% for Japanese companies and 30.1% for American companies.
On 22 March 2013, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of the People's Republic of China issued the Notice No.13 (2013), announcing the final determination of AD duty on Resorcinol (HS NO 2907.2100). The AD duty rate on imports from the United States is 30.1%. The AD duty on imports from Japan is 40.5%. This measure will come into effect on March 23, 2013, and will remain in effect for five years, until March 23, 2018.
On 23 March 2018, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of the People's Republic of China initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from Japan and the United States. This follows the application lodged on 17 January 2018 by Zhejiang Hongsheng Chemical Co., Ltd.
