Safeguard

On March 15, 2012, the Government of Brazil initiated a safeguard investigation on importations of wine from any origin.
This investigation was requested by the Instituto Brasileiro do Vinho -IBRAVIN, the União Brasileira de Vitivinicultura - UVIBRA, the Federação das Cooperativas do Vinho - FECOVINHO and the Sindicato da Indústria do Vinho do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul - SINDIVINHO.
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following item of the MERCOSUR´s Harmonized System: 2204.21.00.
 
On October 23, 2012, the Government of Brazil concluded the safeguard investigation on imports of wine from any origin without the imposition of safeguard measures.
